Aerodynamics

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Put a blindfold on and swing a leg over the Ninja ZX-10R and you’ll swear you’re sitting on a ZX-6R. That’s how incredibly compact the 10R is. In fact, the front cowl has a smaller frontal area than the 600. And any wind that tries to resist the 10R’s relentless forward acceleration gets sucked into the central Ram Air duct, making the bike quicker still. Add a few wind-tunnel designed tricks like integrated turn signals and a flush surface LED tail light and the result is a machine that moves through the air as easily as it moves past the competition.

Aesthetics

The difference between good bikes and great bikes, like the difference between finishing 1 st or 3 rd , is in the details. Details like a 3-piece front fender instead of a cheaper 1-piece unit. Details like a high-quality seamless fuel tank. Or a flush-surface LED tail light that curves slightly over the top of the seat cowl to make the bike more visible.

All new, all powerful and all Ninja, the ZX-10R’s ultra-compact liquid-cooled, 998 cm3, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine is a masterpiece of hypersports technology. Streamlined high-velocity intake tracts feed high-compression combustion chambers running titanium exhaust valves all force-fed by a Ram-Air-boosted fuel injection system featuring fine-atomising injectors and dual throttle valves for impressive power output, brilliant response and acceleration that will blow your mind. A butterfly valve inside the titanium exhaust system ensures a smooth, step-free powerband. Hot-sparking irridium plugs fired by high-voltage coils are charged by a high-speed clutch-driven generator mounted behind the cylinders. And inside the one-piece cylinder/crankcase is a track-ready 6-speed close-ratio transmission with an adjustable back-torque limiting clutch. You demanded our very best. This engine is it.
